THE PROJECT

Overlooking Poole Bay, Branksome Cliff Penthouse enjoys panoramic coastal views stretching from Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to Studland and Old Harry Rocks.

Largely unchanged since its construction nearly 70 years ago, the apartment is undergoing an extensive refurbishment to create a contemporary coastal home designed around its remarkable setting.

BEFORE THE REFURBISHMENT

The original apartment retained much of its decades-old layout, with separate living areas that limited the connection between the principal rooms and the surrounding views.

RETHINKING THE LAYOUT

Carrara Sandbanks has opened up the western wing of the penthouse, removing the divisions between the original kitchen, dining area, living room and sunroom.

The new layout brings these areas together into one expansive living space, with the kitchen relocated to take full advantage of the panoramic views across Poole Bay.

THE TRANSFORMATION ON SITE

PROJECT UPDATE | OCTOBER 2026

The extensive internal strip-out and major structural alterations are now complete, revealing the scale of the reconfigured penthouse.

With the new layout established, attention turns to construction detailing and the interior fit-out, as Carrara's plans for the property begin to take physical shape.

THE INTERIOR VISION

As the refurbishment progresses, attention turns to the finer details of the interior.

The proposed bedroom design offers an early glimpse of the finished home, with a soft coastal palette and carefully selected finishes intended to create a warm, understated interior.
