THE PROJECT
Situated beside the Haven Hotel on the Sandbanks Peninsula, Golden Gates Apartment overlooks the entrance to Poole Harbour, with views towards Shell Bay and Brownsea Island.
Sailing yachts, motorboats and ferries pass close by, creating an ever-changing outlook across one of Dorset's most distinctive coastal settings.
Carrara Sandbanks’ brief is to completely reimagine the apartment’s interior, creating a welcoming coastal home that works equally well as a private family retreat and a holiday residence.
BEFORE THE REFURBISHMENT
The existing apartment provides the starting point for a complete interior redesign, with the opportunity to reconsider how the rooms connect and how the property is used.

THE DESIGN DIRECTION
The initial design concepts explore a contemporary interior with warm natural materials, soft neutral tones and carefully considered lighting.
The proposed kitchen features a curved, fluted island, while the bathroom studies introduce textured stone finishes, timber cabinetry and integrated lighting.
These visualisations offer an early look at the intended direction, with layouts, materials and individual details continuing to evolve as the design develops.

Management consent has been granted for the proposed alterations, with refurbishment scheduled to begin towards the end of 2026 and completion anticipated in late spring 2027.
