Formerly Conway Farm, a flower-growing property in Arrowsmith, Orchard House began as a relatively unremarkable pebble-dashed house with considerable potential. The ambition was to create a substantial country residence, transforming the appearance of the building, extending its accommodation and making far better use of the surrounding grounds. Carrara Sandbanks undertook an extensive programme of work, including substantial extensions and a complete redesign of the exterior. The transformation changed the scale and character of the original house, while comprehensive landscaping brought an entirely new appearance to the grounds. A bespoke pavilion was also constructed to accommodate the owner's collection of cars. Inside, the property was completely redesigned and refitted. Alongside the principal living accommodation, the refurbishment incorporated a private cinema, a substantial home office and a fully equipped gymnasium, with finishes and fittings selected to suit the scale of the residence. The completed Orchard House bears little resemblance to the original property. Its enlarged accommodation, redesigned exterior and landscaped grounds have transformed a former farm property into a distinctive country home.
