WINGREEN
WIMBORNE, DORSET
THE REFURBISHMENT
Set within the Dorset countryside, with far-reaching views towards Badbury Rings, Wingreen is a substantial Victorian country residence whose future was once uncertain. Originally purchased with the intention of replacing the existing property with three new homes, the decision was ultimately made to retain and comprehensively refurbish the original house. The project involved extensive structural work. The original timber floors and sleeper walls were removed and replaced with a modern beam-and-block flooring system throughout. Specialist joiners were commissioned to construct a bespoke veranda, introducing a significant architectural feature to the property. Inside, the refurbishment combined traditional detailing with bespoke fitted furniture, designer wallcoverings and carefully selected finishes. The work was undertaken on a scale appropriate to the residence, preserving its Victorian character while substantially upgrading the building and its accommodation. Wingreen remains a distinctive country home, its original identity retained through an extensive programme of structural refurbishment and interior improvements.
